Why I’m Against Humane Law Enforcement

In response to an email I received I explain why I am against the concept of Humane Law Enforcement.  To begin with, there are well over one million sworn law enforcement officers across the country.  Those beat officers are on the street 24/7/365.  Those officers can be dispatched immediately to investigate allegations of criminal activity via 911.  If the criminal activity happens to be a crime against an animal, those officers have the authority to seize animals on the spot and immediately end their suffering.  None of these things can be said for civilian humane investigators. Updated thoughts on the HSUS Reward

In reviewing the traffic on this blog I have noticed several other blogs linking to one of my original posts about the reward HSUS was offering back when I was a member of the Animal Abuse Control Team.  And while I still believe the whole concept of a reward is a scam being perpetrated by HSUS to solicit donations, I see they have employed some new tricks.

Animal Seizure and Forfeiture Laws

After the acquittals of the Boudreaux family and Mahlon Patrick, I read several posts expressing the opinion that the goal of the Humane Society of the United States is to seize and kill the breeding stock of the prominent dog fighting bloodlines.  While I am no fan of the HSUS and their approach to combating dog fighting, I find it hard to believe that those in charge of this organization are that evil.

How did I miss this?

Unfortunately, sometime last October I stopped blogging.  I believe the lull began with the holiday season, was aided in early 2008 with a renewed focus on my real estate business, and probably continued throughout the year after I was sued for $10 million over one of my postings.  Thankfully the case against me was dismissed!
